Big on Boden
April 4th 2009 08:52
With the sudden influx of UK families here on the Mornington Peninsula, I have had the opportunity to talk fashion to Northern Hemisphere girls. A common lament from them has been that they have had to leave their beloved Boden store behind. Intrigued by a fashion label that evokes such passion in a group of like-minded women, I had to check it out. So after a quick surf, I became a convert.
I have always gravitated toward clothing that is a little bit fun and Boden tends to have this edge, their skirts in particular.
The other big plus for Boden is that the entire range is wearable. They are the sort of clothes you can easily put together as a day to day wardrobe whether you are a working girl or a house schlep like moi!.
Keeping in mind that we basically have to double, plus a bit the British Pound, these are not cheap buys, so I am waiting for the SALE, which will I guess be in July. In the meantime, I have scored some trial pieces on Ebay UK and they are going straight into my winter wardrobe, as the Brits have just finished with theirs. I have to say the quality is fantastic ie the skirts are fully lined and everything is well stitched. They also use great fabric.
If you simply must have new, there is a small SALE page on their site. I registered for their catalogue, which you can do on the site and when it arrived I had a good hour's read. The catalogue is very well presented and worth keeping to refer to. It also seems that each range builds onto or coordinates well with the next one, so each piece you buy is bound to be an 'investment piece' (there you are, I have just given you the justification you need as well).
As winter rolls on, I shall be keeping this image in the back of my mind for Summer 2010 in Australia .....(hope they still have them left when the sale starts)
