Slouchin'
January 8th 2009 11:15
If ever there was a hat style that flattered the masses, it has to be the slouch beanie - currently worn by the masses. I guarantee, after scrolling through the slouch images in this post, even the most devout hat atheist will be reconsidering their position on the subject.
Slouch beanies fall graciously around the head, rather than clamp around the skull, so face shapes remain unaltered and even hair is moderately unaffected by the hat's grasp. (This kills off the 'Hat Hair' argument which would be the aforementioned atheist's prime reason for not getting involved).
Even a quick surf through Victoria's Secret will reveal a delightful portrayal of the style - how could you not love this? And it doesn't have to be bleating cold either to wear these hats - this girl is obviously out on a spring fling.
If you feel you need to have one quickly, Cupcakes Cards and Gifts has the one above or you might like Random Screaming's version:
or even Onesti's cutie:
To be honest, they are not difficult to knit, so if you have some spare yarn and initiative head on over to Brooklyn Tweed and check out Jared's patterns (the opening image is his) or simply google 'slouch knitting pattern' and see them appear. I have bookmarked a few that I intend to produce over the next few months.
And my parting comment, if Lindsay's wearing one, then I guess we all will be sooner or later .............
