Stole-n

I'm sure you're all soaring the same dizzy heights that I am over this long-pined for spring weather. (Did you wear something today that exposed your legs making words like lumpy and white come to mind? Yes, me too. Don't worry, there is still time for treadmills and sunless lotions.) Even though the days have been balmy, there are still the afternoon snaps and cold nights to be considered. We really have moved beyond jumpers and coats, but still need something to navigate us through these cold spots to Summer. Currently, there are some gorgeous stoles, shawls and capelets around which will do the trick.
If you are having difficulty with the 'senior' connotations of the shawl, have a look at these from Las Lopez Las, a South American crafter, who can really turn them out with style. The Barroque red shawl here is made from a combination of silk and merino wool and could almost be worn as a piece of art.
Helana Margareta has made this one with alpaca and silk yarns which would make it incredibly warm but very light on the shoulders.
And, Capelets are all around us - ha ha. For designer girls, Stella McCartney has created these,
but for a more casual look, Homelab has these
If the first image is still burning in your mind, yes it's stunning isn't it? Made by Ellita it is just one of the most beautiful range of stoles, shawls and capelets that I have seen in a very long time. As a knitter, I love to see the craft taken to couture level and Ellita has done just that. Here's another pic to inspire your new wardrobe accessory.
